Qashier Year In Review: Celebrating Successes This 2023

Qashier raised US$10 million in Series A Funding

In August 2023, Qashier secured US$10 million in Series A funding round co-led by Delivery Hero Ventures and IFP Securities. This continues to enable Qashier to accelerate its growth in Southeast Asia and expand into new international markets like Australia, as well as strengthen its product ecosystem.

Qashier currently has four offices across Southeast Asia: Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. Through the said funds, Qashier plans to continue investing in research and development to deliver more innovative solutions to businesses in the region and beyond. 

Your business in your pocket: Qashier app launch

Earlier this year in February, Qashier successfully launched the Qashier app. This freemium POS and payment solution caters to small and medium-sized businesses, offering them an easily accessible and user-friendly platform to manage their business and transactions from their laptops and Android devices. 

Within three days of the app’s public beta launch on the Google Android Play Store, it received an overwhelming response from SMEs across Southeast Asia, reaching more than 12,000 downloads.

All-in-one is just the beginning: QashierX2 launch in Singapore

In July, Qashier also launched QashierX2, the company’s flagship smart POS terminal, reimagined.

Nurturing SMEs via the Qashier Support Package*

Alongside the launch of QashierX2, the company announced the Qashier Support Package, or QSP for short. An initiative that accelerates digitalization amongst SMEs across the region.

In Singapore specifically, where it was first launched, QSP is open to all Singapore-registered businesses, regardless of annual sales turnover or employee headcount limit. Qashier will immediately approve eligible applicants and provide up to 50% sponsorship of its POS and payment solutions, depending on the package of choice. Applications for the said support package are still open until the end of this year.

QashierPay. The Cashless Future. Now. 

This year, Qashier also enhanced QashierPay, its versatile all-in-one payment solution. Merchants can accept a myriad of payment methods, both offline and online. Helping bridge the gap between customer experience in-store and online.

Get your queues moving as QashierPay accepts debit/ credit cards, e-wallets, and other mobile payments, alongside physical cash. You can also accept online payments through Pay by Link (for debit/credit cards) and issue e-invoices directly from your Qashier account.

Currently, QashierPay is only available in Singapore and Malaysia.

Gained more mileage across various media

2023 was a year full of media appearances as both Qashier founders offered valuable insights on all things Fintech.

Some of Christopher Choo’s notable media appearances include an interview on Qashier’s beginning with MoneyFM 89.3‘s Breakfast Show in Singapore; a talk about the Qashier app with Malaysia’s business radio station BFM 89.9 Open for Business episode; and a discussion about empowering SMEs with CNA938’s Singapore Today episode.

Meanwhile, Franklin Zhao was invited to Malaysia’s favourite Mandarin radio station MelodyFM to comment on the country’s contactless payment landscape and how Qashier is bringing affordable business solutions to SMEs.

Furthermore, one of the most exciting news Qashier announced this year is having Christopher Choo named among the esteemed Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Asia. This remarkable achievement further validates his entrepreneurial prowess and the significant impact Qashier has made in the Fintech space.

Qashier for events

Qashier’s all-in-one POS + payment solutions have been a game-changer for the events industry this year, providing a comprehensive and customizable solution that can meet the unique needs of each event. Qashier has powered vendors across prominent events in the region with wireless solutions and cashless payments– including the Chatuchak Night Market, GastroBeats 2023, Brewnanza Fest, and SHEIN Holiday Pop-Up in Singapore; and Wanderland Music & Arts Festival 2023 in the Philippines.

Showcased POS innovation in various industry fairs

Qashier also took center stage at several industry fairs, showcasing its latest innovations in smart POS + payment solutions. Events Qashier participated in this year include Smart SME Expo, Franchise SME Expo, and ASEAN Cafe & Bakery Show in Thailand; and the Franchise Asia Expo in the Philippines.

These exhibitions provided a unique platform to demonstrate Qashier’s innovative POS solutions to thousands of SMEs across Southeast Asia, widen its reach to several industries, and interact directly with industry professionals, partners, and potential clients. 

Partnerships to support Filipino SME growth

Qashier recently forged a partnership with Mustard Seed Systems Corporation (MSSC) and Slash Tech Solutions Corporation (STSC) to drive strategic growth and efficiency to Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through innovative digital solutions.

Both partnerships, formed between October and November 2023, highlight Qashier’s expanded reach across the Philippine archipelago through MSSC and STSC, bringing innovative and cost-effective business solutions.
