Wanting to develop pieces in stainless steel that stood out and to erase that old association, the team at Oh!dinary studio set about designing furniture with something more to it, presenting the results as art and sculpture in furniture form.
Striking design, useful from every angle
The Oh!dinary studio team brings together specialists from several fields — architects, designers and product developers — with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the metal industry. What comes out of it are exceptional pieces that are not only beautiful but genuinely work.
The studio's flagship product is the O!stool, the first piece it ever made. What stands out is a shape that catches the eye immediately, and production techniques that draw out everything stainless steel has to offer, so that anyone who sees it wants to reach out and touch it. The O!stool is not made only in stainless steel, either — there is a wooden version too — and it comes in three sizes. Another neat touch is that you can turn it the other way up and use it for something else, as a wine bottle holder, for instance.
And if a customer wants a piece in a different colour, they need only say so and the studio will make it.
From online to a shop you can walk into
Having started out selling and showing its work on online platforms, the Oh!dinary team wanted customers to be able to see the pieces, touch them, try them, and to trade ideas with the brand in person. That is how the Oh!dinary shop at The Emsphere came about. As well as a space to display the work, the shop acts as a small community for people who love art and modern furniture.
What defines the Oh!dinary shop, then, is how open it is: customers can wander in and look around freely, and talk to the team while they are there.
A helper that answers exactly what the shop needs
