A love of bread — a real passion for it — shaped the path that Nir Netzer took. An Israeli who first came to Thailand as a company employee, he is now the baker giving the Sukhumvit neighbourhood a taste of bread in all its forms. Let's hear Nir's story: why he chose baking, and how it became Nine Pastry.
How Nine Pastry began

Nir tells us he learned to bake back in Israel, and then came to Thailand for a full-time job — but his love of bread never went anywhere, and he kept baking. When Covid-19 struck, he spent the free time he suddenly had at the oven, and fell for baking harder than ever, developing his own sourdough recipe along the way. From there the operation grew, and today he has his own bakery on Sukhumvit 22.
What everyone loves about Nine Pastry
The shop feels friendly and warm. It is not a large space, but part of it is set aside for customers who want to sit in, and there is outdoor seating for anyone who smokes.

Because of that love of bread, and a wish to let people try as many kinds as possible, the Nine Pastry menu rotates as the seasons suit. One month you might find freshly baked bagels; the next, "bourekas", an Israeli pastry. It keeps things interesting, and means eating bread here never gets repetitive.
The ones we would point you to
The shop has its star seller, of course, and that is the sourdough loaf, which tends to sell out quickly. If you miss out, though, don't be downhearted: everything else is every bit as good, from croissants of all kinds to pretzels and focaccia.
There is coffee and cocoa to drink, too, along with cookies and homemade jam to take away with you. You won't leave disappointed.

Qashier, a good fit for looking after the shop
As Nine Pastry grew after opening, the bakery started looking for help on the shop management side. Qashier had just begun operating in Thailand and was becoming known through stands at various expos, and Nir felt Qashier and Nine Pastry had something in common — the passion, and the wish to make a success of something you love — while the terminal and the system fitted what he needed. That is why QashierX1 is the POS Nine Pastry uses.

What made Nir and Nine Pastry choose QashierX1 is that it is a small POS terminal with everything on board, from taking sales to scan-to-pay. That makes it a good match for a counter that isn't especially big, leaving more room to work. And when the bakery sells at farmers' markets, the QashierX1 can go along too.
The flavour, the love and the care that go into Nine Pastry's bread — we want everyone to try it
If you find yourself in the Sukhumvit area, do come and taste bread made with this much love and care. Beyond the warm, easy-going feel of the shop, you will find all sorts of bakery freshly out of the oven and waiting for you — or you can order for delivery. Either way, you won't be disappointed.
