The entrepreneur, and where Qashier began
Christopher's path as an entrepreneur began after he had built up valuable experience in finance. He brought with him a deep understanding of how financial processes work, and a fierce desire to make a real difference to the industry. That first-hand experience gave Christopher an insider's view of the challenges SMEs face, both financial and in the day-to-day running of a business.
In 2019, Christopher Choo and co-founder Franklin Zhao started a new venture with a vision of empowering SMEs through cutting-edge technology and financial services. They founded Qashier, a Singapore fintech startup, offering a point-of-sale (POS) shop management system and payment solutions designed specifically for SMEs.
As a fintech startup that has transformed the way small and medium-sized enterprises handle both their finances and the running of their shops, the comprehensive system Qashier designed lets shops accept payment in many forms — credit card, e-wallet or mobile phone. Beyond selling and taking payment, Qashier's POS shop management system helps shops improve their sales and stock management, and gather valuable insight into their customers.

Looking to the future
Under Christopher Choo's proactive leadership, Qashier has grown rapidly and has extended its services to SMEs across a number of countries. It laid its foundations in Singapore, then expanded into Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, which has allowed us to improve the lives of more than 5,000 SME owners and shopkeepers.
That rapid growth has drawn the attention of investors both at home and abroad.
Christopher's inclusion in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list confirms his standing as an entrepreneur and the significant impact Qashier has had on fintech. Christopher is also a consistent participant in the startup community in Singapore and beyond, helping to build new things there, and a strong advocate for empowering SMEs through technology and financial services.
