Thailand, 15 July 2024 – Qashier, the Singaporean fintech company, has announced the launch of Treats, a membership and loyalty programme connected to Qashier POS that lets customers earn points on the goods and services they buy at any shop taking part in the Treats programme.
A recent report from YouGov sets out the state of customer loyalty across the Asia-Pacific region, and highlights the obstacles customers run into most: sign-up that is not straightforward (52%) and confusing steps to follow (50%). To help shops solve exactly those problems, Qashier has launched Treats, a new kind of customer loyalty solution — fast, easy to use and free of fuss.
Signing up to Treats takes one scan of a QR code, and customers can start collecting points straight away. In countries where Qashier POS supports payment acceptance in the device itself, such as Singapore and Malaysia, customers scan a QR code once to join and to link a credit or debit card to their membership account. From then on, whenever they pay with that card at a shop using Treats, the points are added automatically.
The Treats points a customer collects can be redeemed as a discount at the same shop on their next visit, and they can be redeemed at the shop's other outlets too. Any shop using Qashier POS and QashierPay can run Treats, so customers can pay and earn points easily both in store and online.
“Qashier has always led the way for SMEs, supporting local businesses in selling and in accepting digital payment. With Treats we are extending that support in a way that benefits shops and customers alike in a meaningful way. For shops, we help strengthen the base of regular customers, drive repeat purchases and deepen customer relationships. For customers, it means being rewarded for shopping at the places they love. We are extremely excited to make the buying and selling experience simpler and more rewarding for everyone,” said Travis Kok, Vice President of Qashier.
Since the loyalty programme was trialled with 7,000 customers in June 2024, shops using Qashier have seen average spend per customer rise by 26% and customers return within 8 days on average — a clear demonstration of what this new, frictionless loyalty programme does for the shops running Treats.
Qashier POS is a POS system that sells, runs the shop and accepts a range of payments in the device itself: credit cards*, mobile payments, e-wallets, QR scan-to-pay and online payments. Combined with Treats, Qashier POS becomes a 3-in-1 smart store-management assistant — a smart POS that is genuinely part of the shop, letting merchants take payments smoothly and run the business at a cost that is not punishing. Shops using Qashier in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand can also use Treats, the new loyalty programme, completely free of charge until the end of 2024.
The new, improved QashierXS POS
Going digital remains a priority for shops in Singapore and Thailand, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses. The Singapore Digital Economy report for 2023 revealed that the share of SMEs adopting technology rose from 73.8% in 2018 to 94.3% in 2022. To meet the moment, Qashier has developed the QashierXS terminal alongside the launch of Treats, raising the standard of the payment experience in a digital economy that never stops shifting.

The QashierXS, the new 3-in-1 POS terminal, performs better than its predecessor, with faster processing and more memory, so day-to-day work runs smoothly. Despite the improvement in performance, the new device weighs less than 500 grams, and keeps the same sleek, compact design as the model before it.
The QashierXS is a lightweight device with a full set of features built on more advanced technology, making better use of both counter space and working time, and giving shops a smoother payment experience at a lower cost.
Since the company was founded in 2019, more than 1 billion US dollars has been transacted through its system, and it has raised the standard of business management for close to 7,000 merchants across Southeast Asia, with hardware and cloud-based POS software that makes running a business more efficient.
Qashier has also been granted a Major Payment Institution (MPI) licence by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), allowing it to offer merchants services including domestic and cross-border money transfers.
Qashier continues to grow, and now has four offices across Southeast Asia: Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. Alongside expansion, we keep investing in technology and innovation, to make sure merchants across the region can grow and scale their businesses easily and efficiently.
